We offer two alternative standard itineraries of either 5 days or 10` days or we can tailor-make your holiday with an itinerary to suit your requirements. To enhance you enjoyment there is a maximum of 7 people on any tour. 5 Day Itinerary Day 1. Arrive at Owlbury, the nearest railway station is Craven Arms. Guests can be collected from the station by prior arrangement. Taxis may also be taken from airports at extra cost. In the evening dinner, and an introductory discussion. Day 2. Wales is the home of the preserved narrow gauge steam railway. A visit will be made to the Talyllyn Railway Day 3.Visit to the Severn Valley Railway, Britain's premier preserved steam railway. Sixteen miles long the railway, runs from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster runs through some of the most unspoiled countryside in Britain. Visit to Kidderminster Railway Museum Day 4 . Again we visit Wales , this time to the LLangollen Railway . This standard gauge line is part of the former Ruabon - Barmouth line passing through the Dee Valley in all it's splendour. Day 5. Today we travel to Welshpool for a trip on the Welshpool and LLanfair Light Railway before returning home 10 Day Itinerary Day 1. Arrive at Owlbury, the nearest railway station is Craven Arms. Free day to explore Bishop's Castle and the Railway Museum Day 3. Visit the Severn Valley Railway to tour the depot and visit stations and the other interesting infrastructure Day 4 . We visit Wales and travel to the LLangollen Railway . This standard gauge line is part of the former Ruabon - Barmouth line passing through the Dee Valley in all it's splendour. Day 5. The Ffestiniog Railway, one of the longest preserved narrow gauge Welsh railways, with Duplex locomotive. We will Travel the length of the railway from Blaneau to the coast. Day 6. Travel on the national network along the scenic Cambrian coast from Machynlleth to Pwllheli and return Day 7.Wales is the home of the preserved narrow gauge steam railway. A visit will be made to the Talyllyn Railway Day 8. Visit to the Gloucester Warwickshire Railway. This railway has around ten miles of track, and a good collection of steam locomotives. Day 9. Today we travel to Welshpool for a trip on the Welshpool and LLanfair Light Railway Day 10. Visit the Severn Valley Railway and take a trip on Britain's premier preserved steam railway. Visit to Kidderminster Railway Museum Day 11.Hearty breakfast before departure.
General Information Because of health and safety regulations it is not possible to casually walk round locomotive depots, wherever possible we will arrange guided tours. These are sample itineraries and may change depending on time of year. We cannot accept responsibility for any late arrival/departures or breakdowns on any particular railway. (That also goes for the weather). Please note if you cancel your holiday a charge will be levied as shown in our cancellation charges schedule We are covered for public liability but you may wish to consider taking further personal insurance cover.
